New Books, New Dreams!
The beginning of the new academic year was celebrated with joy, excitement, and renewed hope as Mukti Cox’s Bazar organized a Book Distribution Event across its learning centres. On Sunday, 04 January 2026, a total of 700 students enrolled in 07 learning centres operated by Mukti Cox’s Bazar in Cox’s Bazar Sadar and Ramu Upazila received free textbooks. The distribution of new books transformed the learning centres into vibrant spaces of celebration, marking a promising start to the academic year.
From the early hours of the morning, students arrived at their learning centres dressed neatly, their faces glowing with anticipation and excitement. Receiving their textbooks became a memorable moment for many. The sight of children turning the pages of their new books, enjoying the fresh scent of newly printed textbooks, and sharing their excitement with classmates created an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and happiness.
The event generated equal excitement among parents and guardians, many of whom accompanied their children to the learning centres to participate in the distribution event. Parents expressed their hopes and aspirations for their children's educational journey in the new academic year. Teachers and programme staff were actively engaged throughout the event, ensuring a smooth and orderly distribution of books while contributing to the festive environment.
The event was attended by Mr. Bimal Chandra Dey Sarker, Chief Executive of Mukti Cox’s Bazar; Mr. Sudeb Rudra, Project Manager; Mr. Ariful Islam, Technical Officer; Mr. Arnab Paul, Visual Artist; Mr. Ramjan Ali, Project Officer; Mr. Rony Bhattacharjee, Lesson Development Officer; members of the School Management Committees (SMCs) from different centres; teachers; and students. During the event, the guests extended their best wishes to the students for the new academic year and encouraged them to pursue their studies with dedication and determination to build a brighter future.
The speakers in the event opined that education is not only a pathway to individual growth and empowerment but also a fundamental pillar for building an informed, prosperous, and equitable society. They emphasized the importance of ensuring access to quality education for every child and expressed hope that receiving new books at the beginning of the year would further inspire students to engage actively in learning and pursue their dreams with confidence.
Since 2010, with financial support from Children on the Edge, Mukti Cox’s Bazar has been implementing education programmes for 700 vulnerable, disadvantaged, out-of-school, and working children through 07 learning centres in Cox’s Bazar Sadar and Ramu Upazila. Over the years, this initiative has played a significant role in bringing marginalized children into educational opportunities and helping them build a better future. The annual Book Distribution Event is an important part of this ongoing effort, encouraging children to continue their education while nurturing their confidence, aspirations, and hopes for a brighter tomorrow.
