This event aimed to promote awareness on child protection, prevent gender-based violence, and enhance the mental health well-being of youths residing in the FDMN Rohingya camps since 2017.
Mukti Cox’s Bazar was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest Mr. Md. The event was facilitated by Md. Mirajul Islam, Deputy Program Manager and Mr. Uzzal Barua, Sports Instructor of Adolescent & Youth project of Mukti Cox’s Bazar. This football match served not only as a platform for youth engagement and physical activities but also paved the way of disseminating crucial protection messages focusing on the prevention of child marriage, gender-based violence, and the promotion of mental health well-being amongst the Rohingya youth.
In his address, Chief Guest Mr. Md. Al Imran emphasized the importance of such initiatives in encouraging youth participation in competitive sports, fostering respect among peers, and cultivating gender-equitable attitudes. He highlighted that through this program, young boys will gain a deeper understanding of gender-based violence issues and their responsibility towards female family members, ultimately promoting a safer and more inclusive community.
Mukti Cox’s Bazar remains committed to empowering Rohingya youth by creating safe spaces and promoting awareness on critical social issues, contributing to the resilience and well-being of the camp communities.
