Orientation for project staff (FILEP)
On 18 May 2024, an orientation program for project staff was held under the "Fisheries livelihood enhancement project in the coastal area of the Bay of Bengal (FiLEP)" project funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and jointly implemented by Nature Conservation Management (NACOM), New Vision Ltd. and Mukti Cox’s Bazar. The program took place at the conference room of the regional office of NACOM. Md. Badruzzaman, District Fisheries Officer Cox’s Bazar; Md. Abdur Rob Molla, Chairman of NACOM; Bimal Chandra Dey Sarker, Chief Executive of Mukti Cox’s Bazar; Ashraful Alom, Member of the project implementation committee (Program Development Specialist, Mukti Cox’s Bazar) were present as guests in the inaugural session. In opening remarks, the guests said that we must work in collaboration and put sincere efforts to implement the project successfully and to maintain all compliance issues. We will work as a team to achieve the goals and objectives of the project. They said that this project would be implemented in five (5) Upazilas under Cox’s Bazar district. Namely-Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Ukhiya, Teknaf, Moheshkhali and Kutubdia. The activities of this project include Fisheries Resource Management (FRM), life skill development for 1,500 Fisheries households, their livelihoods and creating alternative income sources as well as promoting nutritional status of the target people in the target area. The orientation is a vital part for the project staff to increase their skill & capacity regarding project implementation and to conduct various meetings and awareness sessions in the community. It is true that orientation/training is a very essential part for implementing the project in achieving the project goal and objectives.
