On 02 February 2024, under its Livelihood Improvement Project for Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals in Bhasanchar, Hatya, Noakhali, Mukti Cox’s Bazar organized a significant distribution event for beneficiaries residing in Plot no. GP-7. The event was inaugurated by Mahfuzar Rahman, Honorable Camp in Charge (CiC) of Bhasanchar Camp (Deputy Secretary, Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner), who served as the chief guest. Bimal Chandra Dey Sarker, Chief Executive of Mukti Cox’s Bazar, attended as a special guest and highlighted the organization's long-standing commitment to humanitarian assistance, which began with relief activities in 1996. He emphasized that Mukti Cox’s Bazar will continue to expand its programs to support underprivileged communities. The event was also attended by Subash Chandra Sheel, Project Coordinator of the Bhasanchar Livelihood Project; Md. Shamim Sardar, Program Manager of the GBViE project; Taslima Ferdowsi, Deputy Program Manager, GBViE project and other officials and employees. The project, being funded by Mukti Cox’s Bazar since July 2023, provided each beneficiary with a package containing 1.5 kg of radish, 1 sweet gourd, 0.5 kg of red amaranth, and 0.75 kg of Tilapia fish. A total of 120 families from cluster no. 72 received these packages.
Mahfuzar Rahman praised the project for its significant initiative in producing a large quantity of radish and sweet gourd in the garden, acknowledging Mukti Cox’s Bazar’s impactful efforts. He noted that such initiatives not only improve food security but also enhance the livelihoods of the beneficiaries by providing them with nutritious food and opportunities for income generation. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, highlighting the positive impacts of the support on their daily lives and overall well-being.
