Mukti Holds Campaign to Restore Peace!
On 13 October 2025, DFAT AHP Bangladesh Rohingya Response Phase IV Inclusive project, implemented by Mukti Cox's Bazar with technical assistance from Oxfam in Bangladesh and funding from Australian Aid, organized a campaign on Restoring Peace and Security at the Darbar Hall of Camp-03.
The event, presided over by Mr. Md. Shariful Islam (CiC, Camp-03), was attended by the Deputy Chief Executive of Mukti Cox’s Bazar, Mr. Syed Lutful Kabir Chowdhury as the Chief Guest and Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam (ACIC) as the Special Guest. Mr. Md. Foysal Bari, Project Manager, facilitated the event skillfully. In addition, this campaign was attended by the Majhis, Imams, youth, students and teachers of Camp-03, leaders of the host community, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and representatives from other humanitarian organizations.
In his address, the CiC said, "In order to establish peace and security, the participation of all, including law enforcement agencies and humanitarian organizations, is essential." He strongly urged the Rohingya community, who have come to this country from Myanmar in search of peace, not to create any conflictual situation among themselves.
The Chief Guest said, “Mukti Cox’s Bazar is committed to improving the standard of life of both the local people and those living in the camps, continuing the work that has been going on in Cox’s Bazar district since 1991.” He encouraged women, youth and community leaders to play an active role in ensuring peace and security, and to address incidents of kidnapping, Gender-Based Violence and ransom-related crimes.
The Special Guest said, "Peace and security are the fundamental rights of every human being in the camp." He emphasized on instilling religious and social values to ensure the safety of women and girls and to keep youth away from drugs and violence.
During the open discussion session, all the participants at the campaign emphasized, "We want sports and women's educational activities to be further increased in the Rohingya camps, so that we can involve ourselves in more and more constructive works."
Apart from that, the Majhi, Imam, and host community leaders of Camp-03 delivered important speeches in this campaign. They all highlighted the need for mutual respect as well as social and religious values to ensure the security of the camp.
This event was also attended by renowned journalists along with Project Coordinator of Mukti Cox's Bazar, Mr. Amdadul Haque Khokan, and other project staff.
