Mukti Distributes Seeds to 10,000 Farmers!
Mukti Cox’s Bazar, under its “Strengthening Resilience through the Transformation of Agri-Food Systems in Cox’s Bazar (PROACT)” project, implemented with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Bangladesh, distributed summer vegetable seeds among 10,000 small and marginal farmers across Cox’s Bazar District from 23 February to 10 March 2026.
The seed distribution program was officially inaugurated by Dr. Bimal Kumar Pramanik, Deputy Director (DD) of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Cox’s Bazar, at the Monirjhil Agricultural Production and Marketing Cooperative Society in Ramu. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Syed Lutful Kabir Chowdhury, Deputy Chief Executive of Mukti Cox’s Bazar, and Mr. Atanu Bhattacharya, Climate-Smart Agriculture Specialist of FAO Bangladesh.
Under this initiative, farmers are being provided with high-quality, climate-resilient vegetable seeds suitable for summer cultivation. In addition, they are receiving training on modern agricultural practices, pest and disease management, and yield-enhancement techniques. These interventions are expected to help farmers achieve improved crop production while enabling them to market surplus vegetables locally, thereby contributing to increased household income and strengthened livelihoods.
