Mukti Coxโs Bazar successfully organized a cultural and awareness event titled โMessage Dissemination Through Folk Songโ, on 26 May 2025 at Camp-19 under its DFAT AHP IV Inclusive Project. This initiative used traditional folk songs as apparatuses to raise awareness on critical social issues, making the messages relatable and engaging for the local community.
The performances mainly addressed five key themes, such as, (1) Gender-Based Violence (GBV) (2) Child Marriage (3) Forced Marriage (3) Dowry, and (5) Polygamy. Five (05) participants from the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) community delivered impactful performances.
Md. Foysal Bari, Project Manager of Mukti Coxโs Bazar, presided over the event. Md. Fakrul Islam, Camp-in-Charge (CiC) of Camp-19 served as the Chief Guest while Md. Amdadul Hoque Khokan, Project Coordinator โ SLFS Project of Mukti Coxโs Bazar appeared as the Special Guest.
Both the Chief Guest and the Special Guest showed their sincere appreciation for the selected contents and expressed accolades for the excellent delivery of the performances, emphasizing the importance of such culturally grounded awareness initiatives. They thanked Mukti Coxโs Bazar for arranging this event and encouraged the organization to hold similar events in the future to further strengthen community engagement and dialogue.
The program was skillfully moderated by Project Officer โ Gender, Ummay Haney Soily. Interactive events like these are proven to be more effective in spreading awareness amongst mass people as the information is conveyed through such engaging manner unlike other didactic methods.
