Boosting Farmer's Market Access: New RCC Road in Teknaf Unveiled!
On 04 January 2025, an inspection was carried out to oversee the ongoing construction of a 2,275-feet RCC road in Ward No. 7 of Whykong Union in Teknaf Upazila.
This construction is a part of the "Enhancing Market Access for Small-scale Farmers (EMASF) in Hilly and Mountainous Areas in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar" project, implemented by Mukti Cox's Bazar with technical support from IVY Japan and financial assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan.
The visit included notable attendees such as the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Ms. Michiyo Adachi, Director of IVY Japan, Engineer-LGED-Teknaf Upazila, PIO-Teknaf Upazila along with the Programme Manager Rie Kondo, Mr. Osman Gani, Project Coordinator and MD. Khairul Islam, Director-M&E.
The road construction will benefit around 3,000 farmers in marketing their agricultural products more efficiently, significantly enhancing their standard of living. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) praised the initiative taken by Mukti Cox's Bazar and thanked the donor representatives, encouraging more effective and appropriate activities of this nature in the future.
