Learners’ Assessment of FDMN Education Project Conducted!
FDMN Education project, implemented by Mukti Cox’s Bazar, conducted a learners’ assessment, from 05th to 13th May 2025, across Learning Facilities in 07 Rohingya camps (Camp-1E, 1W, 2E, 2W, 03, 09 & 17) of Cox’s Bazar.
A total of 2,566 learners from Grades 2, 4, 6, and 8 participated in the assessment. The assessment was commissioned by UNICEF and technically supported by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), in collaboration with its national partner, Associates for Development Services Ltd. (ADSL). The primary objective of the assessment was to understand learners' progress and identify key factors that influence learning outcomes, including predictors, enablers, inhibitors and challenges.
For Grades 2 and 4, Learning Facilities were selected through sector-wide sampling, with 20 learners randomly selected per sampled facility. On the other hand, all learners from Grades 6 and 8 were included. The subjects assessed were Myanmar Language, English, and Mathematics.
A total of 2,570 learners were targeted, with 2,566 learners participating, reflecting a near-complete attendance rate. The Camp-in-Charge (CiC), Assistant Camp-in-Charge (ACiC), Officials from UNICEF, Cox’s Bazar Education Sector and Mukti Cox’s Bazar visited the assessment centres and expressed contentment with the smooth and well-coordinated implementation process.
The findings from this assessment are expected to play a crucial role in improving education policies and developing effective strategies to further excelling learning outcomes in Rohingya response. The data collected will also support efforts to identify areas for improvement, reinforce existing strengths and address disparities in education across different grades and gender groups.
